Katwitwi Water Masterplan

Lithon Project Consultants was appointed by Namwater to do a situation assessment of a proposed Bulk Water Supply Scheme in Katwitwi in the north of Namibia.

The services provided under this investigation are summarised below:

• Inception – confirmed the scope of work and any additions, alterations, omissions
• Field visits – each scheme component was visited to assess condition, confirm infrastructure and equipment, and liaise with local managers and operators to determine any shortcomings
• Determine current sustainable yields of the existing water sources
• Determine the capacity of infrastructure components
• Determine the sufficiency of water sources and infrastructure components
• Determine existing and future demand based on consumer profiles
• Determine upgrades and capital works required to meet future demand
• Determine improvements in operational efficiencies
• Estimate costs of upgrades and capital works
• Prioritise work and prepare an implementation programme
