NAMPORT Conditions Survey

The Namibian Ports Authority (NAMPORT) has launched a 5-year project to record all their infrastructure on a system assisting with port maintenance and planning. Lithon Project Consultants was appointed to lead the project. A selected team of inspectors and assistants are traveling to all NAMPORT infrastructure to gather inventory and deterioration data to input into the customized data system.

On the last trip, the team traveled to Diaz Point in the south of Namibia to record the data on the Port of Luderitz Lighthouse. The perfect day with the perfect weather and the photos are spectacular! The lighthouse structure was constructed many years ago (1915) and still stands against the elements – a true appreciation of what is possible. The deterioration of the surrounding structure is a true testament to the harshness of the ocean, wind, and desert elements.
